Choices

  • Alpine Linux with Nix/Lix and Docker Compose
  • Proxmox with NixOS-based VM for Dockers
  • NixOS with multiple(?) Docker instances

I remembered that this instance of Home Assistant will (some day) live alongside a Docker instance of Frigate for a better NVR experience. It's weird to have VMs on Proxmox running Docker, but backups and snapshots are dead simple.
